How a Cal State East Bay professor crafted a positive response to a destructive act
At the end of fall quarter, several signs on Cal State East Bay Assistant Professor G.T. Reyes' office door were vandalized. Posters reading "Black Lives Matter" and "Brown and Proud" as well as Reyes' nameplate were crossed out with a large "X." After his initial frustration subsided, Reyes went to work crafting a positive response to the destructive act. He calls it the "Cross This Out" quilt.
