Cal State East Bay's HOST Labs program, which started in 2014, trains university students to lead activities for young public school students centered around astronomy, the atmosphere, water and geology. Toward the end of each quarter, Cal State East Bay students lead the middle schoolers through a series of stations, each offering a lesson and a dynamic experiment. The goal is to engage the middle school students with experiential lessons in science and introduce Cal State East Bay students to a potential career in science education.
